Solar plant at Kolkata airport first of its kind in India

A Rs 88 crore power generation plant that was under trial in Kolkata airport will soon be connected to the CESC grid and will become the largest source of alternative energy in the country. Setting up huge solar panel installations in the middle of a city is a big challenge. Hence the airport area was chosen. 

CESC confirmed the airport was poised to become its biggest supplier of solar power.
