91-year-old X-mas tree to be rescued r.g.kar hospital

This is a tree, that has witnessed many global events since 1926, from the signing of the Berlin Treaty to Rishi Aurobindo’s retirement from revolutionary activities. The 91-year-old X-Mas tree on the city’s R. G. Kar Hospital campus has seen history unfold for almost a century. But the tree might not survive the test of time and is gradually inclining towards the ground.

However, a group of doctors has joined hands with well-known horticulturists to save the tree. The sapling of this tree was planted in the campus way back in 1926 and was brought from Chile, South America. Even students from the alumni association have joined hands and are hell-bent to save this tree.
