Latest QS World University Rankings Asia 2020 released on November 27 has given 1st position to Jadavpur University among 200 state universities of India including technology institutes. Earlier, Calcutta University had also received this rank ahead of JU, but the parameters were different then.
In the Asia ranking, JU has scored 136, followed by CU. IIT Bombay has got the highest rank as Indian higher education institute, followed by IIT Delhi and IIT Madras. The ranking included parameters like overall excellence in studies and quality of the faculty.
