Bengal Cricket Team make great comeback!
Bengal boys staged a remarkable comeback by winning against Vidarbha on Tuesday. They beat the opponents by eight wickets and moved on to the finals of CK Nayudu Trophy (U-23). It was indeed a difficult win after conceding a three-run first innings lead with over a day’s play left. But Bengal’s bowlers proved to be superb and dismissed Vidarbha for only 111 runs in the second innings.
Bengal had to score 115 and they reached the target losing just 2 wickets in only 23.1 overs and will be clashing with Punjab in the finals, to be played at Patiala on 4th February. Pacer Ananta Saha deserves a special mention, who finished with five for 45. Subham Sarkar claimed three for 12. Coach Sourashis Lahiri was all praise for the boys. He added: “It was a remarkable comeback by the boys after conceding lead in a crunch match like the semifinal.”
