Now aspiring engineers from Bengali medium will also get a chance to write their JEE (Main) examinations in Bengali. To be effective from January 2021, the HRD ministry has directed the National Testing Agency to prepare for conducting the examination in 11 vernacular languages including Bengali. Previously it was held only in English, Hindi and Gujrati, that had raised a huge hue and cry in Bengal as to why Bengali will not be included. And why Gujrati is?
JEE (Main) happens to be the national level competitive test for admission to undergraduate engineering and architecture courses. It is also the eligibility test for JEE (Advanced), the admission test for IITs.
