Travel + Leisure, in their annual “World’s Best Awards” survey for 2024, ranked Kolkata as one of the top 25 cities in the world, placing it at 19th, acknowledged by Savills’ Growth Hubs Index for its rapid development (ranked 11th in the world), and also recognized for achieving one of the best air quality indices among major metros worldwide (2nd best metro in the world in May AQI) by IIT Delhi.
This ranking acknowledges Kolkata’s emergence as a major hub for development.
Perhaps one of the most significant accolades that really reflects Kolkata’s commitment to sustainable growth is its remarkable performance in achieving one of the best Air Quality Indices (AQI) among major metropolitan cities worldwide. In May, data from IIT Delhi positioned Kolkata as the city with the 2nd best AQI among major global metros.
