Tarapith temple flowers are being used to produce bio-fertilisers

Remember the last time you paid a visit to the holy site of Tarapith? The premises would be full of flowers and belpata offered to the deity by the worshippers. The piles of flowers and leaves when rot give off a terrible odour. The authorities have finally made a unique endeavour of keeping the premises of the temple clean by removing the flowers and leaves offered to the Goddess and turn them into bio-fertilisers. A group of girls from an NGO have engaged themselves in removing these flowers from the temple premises and making bio fertilizer out of them. These bio-fertilisers are being sold in the market and the profits earned are supporting these group of young girls in their education and well-being. 

Thanks to this unique endeavor, the nearby Dwarka river that would be heaped with these flowers is much cleaner now. The Rampurhat Development Council has finally found a respite from this persistent problem. Almost 10 tonnes of flowers and belpata are being collected and changed into the organic fertilisers twice in a week. You will definitely find the Tarapith temple surroundings also much clean these days.
