Kaun Khichudi (Chakma)
Ingredients:
Kaun rice | 2 cups |
Dal (Moong) | 2 cups |
Chopped onions and garlic | 2tbs |
Oil | half a cup |
Cardamom and clove paste | 1 teaspoon |
Ginger and garlic paste | 1 teaspoon |
How to make:
1. Wash the rice and dal.
2. Add some oil and vegetables you wish to add to the khichudi and shallow fry them.
3. Mix all the spices with chopped onion and garlic with the fried vegetables and keep stirring.
4. Then add some warm water to it and let it boil.
5. Reduce the flame and bring it down once it gets dried.
6. Serve hot
Mashkalai Khichudi
Ingredients:
Mashkalai Dal | 1 cup |
Rice (Govindobhog) | 1 cup |
Chopped onions | 2tbs |
Oil | half a cup |
Ginger and chillipaste | 1 teaspoon |
Haldi powder | Half teaspoon |
Cumin paste | Half teaspoon |
Ghee | 1 teaspoon |
How to make:
1. Wash and boil the dal.
2. Once dal is boiled, add the rice to it, along with the ginger and chilli paste and spices as mentioned above.
3. Mix all the spices and keep stirring. This khichudi needs to be a bit liquid, Accordingly add warm water.
4. Then add ghee and let it boil.
5. Reduce the flame and bring it down once it gets dried.
6. Serve hot
