Eden Gardens offered as a quarantine centre by Sourav Ganguly
In an unprecedented move BCCI President Sourav Ganguly has offered part of Eden Gardens for temporary quarantine facility. The Eden Gardens’ indoor facility and the players’ dormitory has been offered to the West Bengal government for this purpose. Several new quarantine centres and isolation beds are being made by the state government under the instruction of Hon’ble Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee in view of a possible spike in COVID-19 cases in India in the next few weeks and for those who are returning from abroad or other states.
In a media interview Ganguly said: “If government asks us, we shall certainly hand over the facility. Anything that is need of the hour, we will do it. There is absolutely no problem.” He also added they are in discussions regarding monetary donations to the government funds to help them in this hour of crisis.
