Capturing 66th Dover Music Conference

Nirmalya Mukherjee, economic and corporate advisor at The Bengal Chamber of Commerce and Industry and a photographer by passion, shares with GB readers some candid moments at Dover Lane Music Conference that ended this week.

It all started on a sudden impulse in the year 1952 when a few music lovers of Dover Lane and adjoining localities of south Kolkata with relentless effort and dedication staged a three-night cultural program, which included drama, songs and music, both classical and light, thereby laying the foundation of the present-day Dover Lane Music Conference. It is a voluntary and non-profit organization, that has grown up over the years with the active support of the cultural fraternity of Kolkata.

There are hardly any maestros of Indian Classical Music, either living or dead, who have not performed at this conference. An exclusive GB picture story of some who performed this year through ace photographer Nirmalya Mukherjee’s lens.
