Sex workers to manage food stalls during Puja

This year around 30 sex workers would take charge of the kitchen at the food pavilions to be set up by the State Fisheries Department in different puja pandals of the city. This move by Bengal government aims to bring sex workers to mainstream and help them earn a living.

The selected sex workers are being trained in cutting raw fish, to packaging, cooking, frying and serving them to customers. They will be seen at many pavilions across the city puja pandals.
