Here is some good news for techies who wish to stay back in Kolkata. Global Consultancy giant PwC is setting up a Centre of Excellence in Artificial Intelligence in Kolkata. This facility is expected to employ around 1,200 people, besides building Internet of Things (IoT) lab in the city, which is also first of its kind in the country.
PwC is investing around Rs 100 crore for setting up these city projects. Houses in PwC’s newly constructed 60,000 sqft facility in Kolkata, these labs will be used to incubate new solutions to address issues that are impacting businesses globally. These centres will cater to global clients in the US, UK, Middle East, Russia and continental Europe. With employment of 1,200 techies, the new headcount of PwC Kolkata will go up to 7,000.
